Using an autoresponder capture form on your website is a great way to filter your

in each letter so that you can build trust and credibility with them.

Plan on using as many letters as needed in your series to properly pre-sell, and
educate them about making the best possible decision regarding their future as
your team mate and how you look forward to working with them.

Overall let them know that they can tap into a $295 dollar education for free and use
all the tools with no out of pocket cost to them so they can get started with no risk.

Assure them that you will be available to answer any questions they may have and
that you are looking forward to their success.

I have always utilized autoresponder messages with every online business I have run.

First of all, if you only promote company splash pages, you never brand yourself and distinguish yourself from everyone else who is also promoting the same page.

Also, some people just don't take action on their first exposure to an online presentation. Let's face it... there are thousands of online marketing opportunities bombarding potential prospects every day... some are full of hype and unsubstantiated promises... some are legit.

So, here's where the autoresponder fits in... it allows you to send a series of messages on autopilot. It lets you brand yourself by sharing about yourself AND your business in your own words and communication style. Autoresponders also let you contact people in their own environment at their own timetable... and they don't feel they are being pushed into a decision by a slick talking salesman.

What information do you need to provide to potential affiliates in follow-up emails?

First of all, you need to provide some incentive to get them you submit their information to your autoresponder squeeze page in the first place. This could be a free digital product or an ecourse. Think about what your "perfect" prospect would look like... are they an online marketer already, or are they an online "newbie:? Your "bribe" to get their contact information must be geared to the needs of this prospect AND it must be of high quality... if you give them something that is of no value, why would they be interested in working with you?

Once you have decided on this, next you need to write down an outline of your message emails. Here is an example of a basic SFI message set outline...

Email 1
Thank them for joining your list and provide them with the "freebie". Also, give them a brief summary of what they can expect from you in the AR message series. I always close each email message with a preview of what is coming in the next message, AND its subject line. I always end each message with my wishes for their success and my contact information. And the last thing I always add is a "P.S." where I either add my SFI affiliate links... maybe a link to one of the TripleClicks product offers (epecially if you have your own ECA offerings)... or you might even add additional "freebies". You want to make them excited to see what might be coming to them in the next message... you want to keep them engaged with your AR emails.

Email 2
Help them discover their "WHY"... why do they want to begin a home based business in the first place... once you have them thinking of their why, show them how SFI can help them reach those goals.

Email 3
Further develop the thought process started in message number two by focusing on how SFI can benefit them personally. Also, I "zero" in one the fact that every 10 seconds someone starts a new "work from home business"... and every 19 seconds someone signs up with SFI (Check your Growth Tab to see current numbers here). This means there are a lot of prospects and SFI is exploding.

Email 4
In the next message I focus on the benefits again stressing the importance of an ONLINE business... and I show them how SFI fits that business model.

Email 5
In this email message I point out the importance of a "low cost" startup entry point. I especially point out that entrepreneurs in the global landscape don't have $200 or more to get started. SFI is global... in fact, the largest contingent of affiliates do NOT come from the US.

Email 6
In the next message I explain the stability and integrity of the company... I point out how I was building a good team in another company... and it went "belly up". Very important to find a company that is here to stay.

Email 7
My main focus in this email is to show that the corporate pyramid is broken... no one's job is secure. SFI offers a way to build your own secure financial future.

Email 8
Here I touch on the importance of leveraging other people's efforts and duplication. Everyone you recruit is in business for themselves and is working toward their own success... which is also YOUR success as well.

Email 9
I end the series with a review of all of the points and my promise to always be there to help them.

Here's another thought to ponder... if after viewing this whole email series the prospect has not joined me in my SFI business, I then move them onto another list and AR message set focusing on Internet marketing in general. I can present other affiliate offers, and occasionally present them with another SFI promo.

Hey Jelena

Even though a lot of people on the forum believe that auto-responder is not such a great idea, I tend to disagree. In fact, I believe that it can prove to be a great asset in terms of marketing, if used well.

My personal experience in the field is extremely limited. I would just like to share whatever I have been able to gather from all the research and reading that I have been doing.

As per my knowledge, there are a few basic ground rules to "prospecting" emails.

1) KISS - KEEP IT SWEET AND SIMPLE
No one likes to read long emails singing praises about a product or service. Would you? So try and keep your emails as precise as possible. Give just about enough information to get someone interested. But not so much that they get intimidated. A simple way to do that is to give a broad outline of the program. Don't get into the details. At least not for the first few emails. Preferably, till the prospect asks for those details. Also, try to keep the language as simple as possible. Please remember that your prospects might not be as comfortable with english as you are.

2) LIST IT OUT
From whatever I have learnt from my experience, people get turned off when they see paragraph after paragraph of written content. So, a more effective way is to list out the benefits of the program. You can give a heading followed by a line or two describing it. This will make your emails easier to read and understand. Also, it'll be easier for your prospects to go back to the email and look for certain points for reference.

3) CONTENT
Coming to what your question is specifically about. The content of your email or the information that you should provide. The content of every follow up email will have to be a little different than the previous one. This will maintain the reader's interest. So let's say, you end up sending 3 follow up emails to every prospect. I'm saying 3, because if your prospects don't respond to these, they probably never will. And anyways, it will be considered as spamming, which is against the basic SFI Rules of Conduct.

So, let's talk about every individual email:

a) Letter 1
Your first letter should contain:
i) A brief history / background about SFI.
ii) The key features of the SFI Business model. eg. It is free, You can operate
from any part of the world, You get a website of your own, There are multiple
streams of income, etc.
iii) A brief introduction about you. (Your name, Country, Occupation, How you
discovered SFI, How you feel about SFI, etc)
iv) An invitation to sign up and discover more along with your affiliate sign up

v) An invitation to write back to you for details or clarifications
vi) Your Contact Information (even though the email is going from your account,
don't assume that the prospect will use your email address from there.
Mention your email address separately. It could be a part of your signature)

b) Letter 2
If you are sending out a second letter / email, it means that the prospect did not sign up in reaction to the first one. This is the time when you need to start probing a little while also proactively providing information. In all possibility, the prospect is waiting to find out more about SFI before he/she joins it. Here's what your second email should contain:
i) A warm greeting - Treat your prospect like a customer.
ii) A line or two asking about how they are doing.
iii) A line or two asking them why they haven't responded. Or what their concerns
are.
iv) A brief introduction about the income streams that work for u or u find
interesting
v) An invitation to sign up and discover more along with your affiliate sign up

vi) An invitation to write back to you for details or clarifications
vii) Your Contact Information

c) Letter 3
This has to be the most persuasive letter/email. This email should be more like a combination of your previous emails.
i) Warm greeting
ii) A brief history about SFI
iii) A line or two about how you understand their dilemma.
iv) A list of all key features about SFI. Followed by a brief description about
each of them. Describe your favorite streams in a more detailed manner.
v) A few success stories. Try to keep them as brief as possible.
vi) An invitation to sign up and discover more along with your affiliate sign up

viii) Inform them that this is your last email to them, if they choose not to respond to it.
Talk about SFI's zero tolerance policy towards Spam
ix) Your Contact Information

Hopefully, one of these emails should do the trick for you. If they don't, MOVE ON. There's more fish to catch in the waters out there.

Once the affiliate signs up, start sending out more personal emails, depending upon their background and experience.

I use Autoresponders myself, they are a great tool when used properly. I train constantly, not just on the SFI website but I have paid memberships on other sites as well. One helpful bit of information I learned was a very basic outline for setting up autoresponder messages. You want your emails to convey three things:
1. What I've got
2. Why You need it
3. How you get it.
Put a link to your gateway or blog (Use the one available on the Leadership Page) and do it at least 3 times working it into your message. The message should be helpful, not sales-y

You should set up two more emails to respond over the next few days as well. Again, you will follow the pattern What I've got/Why you need it/How you get it not just within the message, but in the series as well. The first email will be about what you have, the second about why 'you' need it, and the third is a very compelling call to action if they have not already acted.

One more thing to share regarding using an autoresponder, Diane Hochman, who is a well respected marketer uses hers a little differently than others. SHe has some pre written emails, but she keeps it personal and timely by sending out daily messages that are written on that day using current experiences that we can learn from. Likewise, your messages should be personal and spontaneous.

Yes, you must have an outline of the information you want to convey to your prospects. Here is my suggestion:

1. You must be able to present the stability of SFI. Information like years of existence, and its physical location.

2. You must be able to present how he can earn from SFI. Define the different streams of income. Direct Commission, commision from CSA and ECA, Executive pool, being an ECA, SFIPPA and prices and winning from Pricebenders.

3. Define the success factors - Explain what will make him successful with SFI. Like sponsoring and duplication, personally earn VP to qualify for the rank.

Two things that you should remember when writing you emails. Keep it concise, meaning short but complete. Review and revise your email and let someone check on it before you send it.

Secondly do not forget to put your gateway in every end of the paragraph, so that your prospect will have a chance to click it anytime he feels that its worth trying.

One of the best uses of email autoresponders is to gently remind affiliates / prospects about how fantastic SFI is. You can periodically schedule “reminder” emails to affiliates / prospects who haven’t visited or logged in recent memory or perhaps to encourage them to log in. Further, for reminding them about their accounts or profiles, a trick that you can use is to send an autoresponder that asks them to “update” their email marketing preferences. This encourages them to login to their SFI account.

Without further ado, here are some pointers for you to take into consideration:

1. Start by thanking the person for joining or requesting information. This immediately separates your message from spam.

2. Fill your autoresponders SFI/TripleClicks product/service updates, news about new releases, your observations, or links to useful information your affiliates / prospects will be interested in.

3. Three (3) to Four (4) messages will work just fine. 7, 10, 15, 20 spaced out over time can do a phenomenal job of keeping customers, affiliates, and prospects informed and interested until they buy, opt-in, or become more active.

4. Keep it short and simple about 200 words. Your subject line should be 3 or 4 words that sum up your message. The first message might have “Thanks for requesting information from YouSite.com.” The next could be “Why shopping at TC can save you 25%” and the next “Why people love PriceBenders Live Auctions.” and include direct links.

5. Have the first message go out immediately. Have the next 3 go out one each day while the affiliate / prospect is still hot. Have the rest spaced out every few days, then one a week, one every two weeks, then one per month for several months. Views differ on how often messages should be delivered to prospects. A lot of it depends on what kind of customers you have and how much email intensity they’re used to. Some Internet Marketers send out several messages per day while others will hit you with a message per day for a few days, take a break, then go back to frequent messages. It takes some customers months or years before they’re finally ready to buy or Opt in.

6. Structure your emails to be a "Next Step" email. It's a very direct pitch for whatever you want the reader to do next. It could be a survey or even a trial of a product or service. But stick to a rule of thumb of 80% content / 20% pitch. Rather than pitching in every message, make deposits first for 3 to 4 messages of pure, helpful content. In other words Zero pitch, like the benefits of signing up for S-Builder shares, or the benefits of advertising, or why it is important to have PSA's, or what are the benefits of TCredits. But remember when you do pitch, in the "Next Step" message, be direct. Be obvious about what you want them to do next. You can only pitch in this way, if you've earned the right to do so by providing relevant and helpful content up to this point, meaning you have enough deposits.

A "deposit" is any message that helps your customer / affiliate / prospect solve a relevant problem or provides guidance or assistance without asking them to give you anything in return. Deposits can be in many forms such as: Checklists, Free reports, How-to videos, etc... Or simply a message that spoon feeds some of the information you previously gave them.

That's a very good idea, Jelena.

Having some experience with autoresponders, I'd suggest segmenting the list into those who join and those who don't join SFI and structure both series accordingly, but let's concentrate on the "joined" series.

Your first letter in the series should be your welcome letter you write here on site, with some basic information on how to collect VPs. The next one (the first in the autoresponder series) should concern the first actions to be taken (confirm your e-mail, white-list SFI, fill in your profile, etc.) be each affiliate to fully participate in SFI.

Then, I'd suggest a mini series of training letters revolving around the 3 simple steps (https://www.sfimg.com/SFIBasics3Steps), explaining the idea under each step: 1. Become..., 2. Recruit... 3. Teach... Providing good info on how to get the first 1500 VPs, describing - only generally - possible methods of recruiting, and finally mentioning duplication while discussing Step 3, where you can provide your own methods for retaining your EA status and recruiting and recommend your affiliates follow your way (set up a SO, join the same recruiting programs/syustems you use).

Remember this correspondence goes outside SFI, so you are free to promote your programs to your Affiliates if you only think they'll help them to succeed here.

One letter on the importance of doing their TO-DO LIST daily, but not as a chore, but as another ticket for the Daily Grand drawing (important). You switch their perspective from a boring task into a chance of winning a prize.

The next part of the series should be devoted to more advanced stuff, as I call it, like for example discussion of the SCOREBOARD tab, to show how important it is for your Affiliates to build their downlines, how they profit from deep downlines, how they earn commissions and VPs on EAs and TLs they sponsor, and so on.

The final training letter should be on importance of networking, i.e. building their A2A friends circle, where you tell your affiliates to become friends with their country leaders first and other affiliates from their country.

That's the core in my opinion. It should contain around 8 letters, so spaced at 2-3 days it should be 2-3 weeks of training.

Remember also about occasional broadcasts that you can schedule for a specific day of the week, where you'll share your past week experience, organize shared advertising campaigns, and give recognition to your most active affiliates for example.

I got my autoresponder message ideas from the suggested ads in the Marketing section of the SFI Home Page. I edited them into a message format that would follow sequentially from the first email message to the second etc.

I created my letters in that manner so a to not misrepresent the program, the income potential or any other aspect of the business.

I also used some info that I gleaned from the Gateway capture pages. I created a total of 13 emails that are sent out automatically. I have people who joined SFI via my autoresponder.

One thing I would say is, I found new people much faster using the direct Gateway links.
Using the Key Codes has helped me determine where my prospects are coming from.

The great thing about the autoresponder is that you can add these prospects to your personal list for future reference.

An auto responder is an automated sequence of emails that are triggered when a potential affiliate signs up for an email list or provides an email address to you.

Usually one day after the potential affiliate signs up for the email list and receives the welcome email, the first of a series of "auto responders" is sent. This first email contains either the information that the potential affiliate was interested in.

Following that, an average of ten to nineteen emails are then automatically sent to the potential affiliate most often with several days between each email send. The further the sequence gets, the longer the space between emails is. For example, within the first three or four auto responder emails, there may only be a day or two between each email send. However, as you get into the latter emails, it is common to leave a week between email sends so as not to encourage the potential affiliate to become frustrated and mark you as spam or unsubscribe from future mailings.

In your follow up emails, you can include the following info:

1. Always Include the Auto Responder Name in the Subject Line:

Because you are sending multiple emails spaced out over multiple days, you always want to include the name of the auto responder program (eg: SFI-"Aim High, Dream Big") that your subscriber signed up for in the subject line so that they recognize you in the inbox.

2. Be Sure to Have Subscribers White List You:

Because auto responders run a higher risk of unsubscribe requests and spam complaints, be sure to ask potential affiliates to add you to their contact list or address book in the first welcome email that they receive to help negate the chances that you will end up in their spam or junk folder.

3. Do Not Overdo Offers:

While the ultimate goal of your auto-responder program is to request them to signup as PSA or PRM, too many offers can result in potential affiliates fleeing from your list early in the auto responder sequence. Present offers contextually and don't create auto-responders that look and feel like repeated direct pushing signup emails.

4. Make Links Clear and Visible & Use Text Links:

Make sure that all links to your SFI or TripleClicks signup pages are clear and visible. When possible, default to blue, underlined links for easy potential affiliate recognition. Though in web design it is often unadvisable to use the words "click here" in a link, in email design it typically is more effective to use the words "click here." Make sure that your links are text links and not image-based links as images may not appear in all emails.

5. Typical content of an Autoresponder:

An auto responder is generally more similar in content to a newsletter than it is to a direct signups email, though it combines many of the elements of both. The content can vary wildly though based on your what SFI offers and related subjects. The most common type of auto responder content will be tips or advice, but you can also do great things with recipes, serial fiction pieces, inspirational quotes and a variety of other topics. Essentially, you are looking for content that will engage users over a period of time while also providing a platform to encourage visits to your website.
