The first thing you need to do, is give useful advice. Every day, or at the very least every other day, post in your blog. Every post needs to be on topic, and bringing a point that helps your readers gain knowledge about the topic. After every post, go to technorati and ping the search engines. That helps you gain readers. Another way to gain readers is put the blog on rotation in a couple of Traffic Exchanges. Then, after you have gained trust, you can put in an ad. You should have a picture in your blog of yourself so readers can see you are a real person. This is called branding.
