I'm told to lead by example in SFI...but how can I demonstrate this to my PSAs and CSAs?

Leading by example is the best way to keep your team motivated. Beginning with your SFI badges, you can show your team that it is possible to be successful here. Your badges show how active you are which sends the message that anything worth gaining requires a consistent effort. Don't overwork yourself when trying to gain badges but keep in mind that the more badges you have, the more impressive your profile can be.
Another area in leadership is communication. Send out regular communications with a variety of support so everybody benefits. Along with that, try to recognize those who show up on your movers list by thanking them for being an active part of the team. This will help your team see that you care enough about their success to recognize them when they do well.
On the other side of communication, you should send out an E-Card to those who used to be active but somehow fell off the radar. Let them know that you miss them and they might respond well by becoming active again.
By gaining badges and communicating with your team, you are showing them how to be a good leader so they can do the same.

How can being an SFI affiliate change your life?

When I joined SFI in 2003, I was new to the internet world as a whole and I definitely had no idea about making money on the internet. The launchpad lessons and training I received through the years helped me grow into an intelligent internet businessman who is holding his own in cyberspace.
Furthermore, being part of an international company has opened my eyes to other countries and I have been learning about different cultures and the similarities we have. Along with that, some of our differences are not as different as I originally thought!
Overall, I am becoming a better person because I am developing friendships with people from the other side of the world. It truly is a "small world after all."

What are the best products to buy at TripleClicks if my objective is to build my SFI business?

The first product to buy in order to help your business grow would be T-Credits. If you create a standing order for 125 T-Credits every month, you will maintain your EA status and then you will have resources available for your team.
Along with T-Credits, if you can afford an S-Builder unit every month, you will have new PSAs to work with. Along with that, it would be a good idea to maintain a $20 gift certificate balance so you can send out rewards for certain actions. You could send $2 to 10 PSAs for various accomplishments and that could get them motivated to do more.
I have not had any success with the advertising offered by some of our ECAs so I can't suggest them, but the E-Books that teach you about internet marketing and offers tips and "tricks of the trade" may be helpful.

I want to make sure my affiliates know about and understand the value of the new Milestone Shares. How do I do this?

When I think about milestones, I picture my children growing up. How do we let our children know that each milestone is important? We celebrate the milestones either by something simple as cheering and clapping or something formal like a party to celebrate a special birthday, graduation, etc.
We can use this same concept for our teams. When a PSA achieves a new milestone, you can cheer them on by recognizing the accomplishment in the forum, stream post, or weekly team mail. You can also send an E-card to make it personal. This will show others that the milestone is a big deal and hopefully that will motivate the rest of your team to work towards that same milestone.

What are the big picture things you are doing to make your SFI business a success?

In order to see the big picture, you have to take a step back and plan for the future. The end of the road for me will be a retirement on my terms, and this means that I have to make my income last for the rest of my life. SFI is part of my plan because I can see the potential for making my plans a reality.
Just like planting a seed for an apple tree, we have to exercise patience with growing a successful business, and it begins with setting goals every month. Don't just use the goals tab for gaining a daily versa point, use it as a challenge for you to step it up. Be realistic and set goals that you can make with a little hard work. Once you get to the next level, set another goal to keep moving forward.
Along with the goals tab on the home page, I made a personal monthly goal to spend only what I earn in commission from the previous month. I was doing great with that until a couple of months ago when I lost a couple of active CSA/PSAs, but I am working my way back to that point. Once you get to the point of spending only what you made the previous month, you can start working on operating at a profit.
Overall, make sure you stay positive because even with setbacks, making progress towards a goal is better than having to start from the beginning.

Here is what I send to my affiliates 3 days after they join:
You made a great choice by joining SFI! I am excited about the opportunity you have and I want to make sure you make the most of it. I hope you are considering the Fast Track status that is available to all new affiliates during the first 10 days. Be careful not to let this valuable benefit slip by! The reason why I wait for 3 days is because of the amount of messages that are sent out on the first day. I have seen several affiliates opt out because they receive too much mail too soon.

How do you explain to team members why VersaPoints appear to reset to zero at the start of each month?
Earl Winfrey, Aff (South carolina, US)

If you work for a company that pays you commission, they will have a cut-off date for sales so that they can calculate your commissions and add up what they need to pay you. Once the check is written, you don't get paid anymore from those sales. The sales numbers start over for the next pay period so you are back to zero sales.
This is the same concept with versa points. Versa points are used so SFI can calculate your commissions. Once they close the month and figure out how much to pay you, those versa points are no longer needed. Your versa points reset to zero so they can start a new month for your commissions.

How do you lead your team and have duplication when they are confused about everything?

Leading a team can be complicated especially when there is so much to learn here at SFI. The good news is that SFI created an excellent training program that takes a person step by step through everything they need to know. The bad news is that most people don't have the patience to go through the training.
The first step to leading your team through the confusion is to find out how they were recruited. Where did they find the ad for SFI? If the person found the ad on a traffic exchange that contains many online business opportunities, there is a good chance that he/she was looking for something quick and easy that will produce money right away. At the very least, the number of ads that promote free and easy money on those exchanges work against us because of the expectations of those who click on our ads.
If the person is expecting a free and easy way of making money, your first goal should be to show how SFI is not that kind of business. Once you get beyond the initial shock of this being different, the person can settle down and start learning. Unfortunately, most people who are expecting a free and easy way to make money drop out after they realize that we actually work for our commissions.
However, for those who decide to hang around and try to understand SFI, my best advice is to encourage them to stick with the bare minimum for as long as it takes to get used to the business. Pick 1 or 2 key areas to focus on (daily tasks, PB Auctions, Eager Zebra games, etc) and don't add anything else until they master what they have already learned.
Most of all, slowing down is the best way to learn anything. In our fast past world, we pride ourselves on the ability to achieve success overnight, but overnight success usually doesn't happen until after several years of work has been going on behind the scenes. Once the people understand this, they will be able to have the patience to learn before they earn.

Good communication with our team is vital in SFI, but what if we are not good writers; how do we learn to write well?
Earl Winfrey, Aff (South carolina, US)

Learning how to write well is similar to learning any other skill: practice, practice, practice. Of course, you have to make sure you are following a good pattern so your practice will be productive. And this is where you need to do some research.
What kind of writing style appeals to you? That will be the first indication of what kind of writer you want to be. If you prefer a more formal approach, then perhaps some academic blogs on the internet will help you see how sentences are formed. If you prefer a more conversational approach, then look for blogs that show that style.
Once you determine your model for writing, study that model and work on producing your own writing in the same style. It really is that simple so don't try to reinvent the wheel or overthink your writing. Along with finding a good model for writing, make sure you proofread everything you write.
Proofreading seems to be a lost art in this day of the Facebook post. I can't tell you how many times I have seen posts that have spelling and grammar errors when I go online, and this is frustrating for those of us who love writing. My personal rule is to never post your first draft of anything you write. Always read through and make sure you are confident of what you are trying to say before making it public.
Overall, view your writing like a masterpiece because great writing really is a work of art.

How do we know that if we stay with SFI that we will make money and become successful?

I don't want to answer your question with a question but here it goes: How do you know that if you stay with a job that you will make money and be successful there?
When you work for a company, you will receive a paycheck as long as you are useful for that company. However, the minute they decide that your services are no longer needed, they won't hesitate to send you back to the unemployment line. I have seen it happen. It has happened to me too!
Here at SFI, the corporate staff is not looking for an excuse to "Fire" anybody because they decided to make us affiliates instead. They are loyal to us because they know that if we are not successful, they won't be successful either. Of course, we have to do our part and work hard at recruiting and selling in order to make money, but you won't find another company that is eager to help the way our SFI support staff is.
You won't find another company that has provided all the wonderful resources that SFI has given to us for FREE! You won't find another company where the owner is actively communicating with the affiliates on a daily basis! Check out the forum and see how often Gery makes a comment to help us out!
Will we make money and be successful? Yes we will as long as we are willing to work at it. It has been done and it will continue to happen for those who remain loyal to the company that has been loyal to us.
