I usually like to pick up a theme each time I wish to change my welcome letter and it varies with the topic I feel I have not touched for a while. It could be the Card King games or team building or earning online or just the SFI business. On many occasions, I decide to talk sales and marketing so there is a different welcome message each time. When I joined this online business where I would earn money, I knew that this is something I wanted to take part in even if it was initially for a trial period to see what it was about. I never expected anyone to help me either financially or otherwise but I knew as I went along that Support was available. This was my business and to make it successful I would have to work hard towards it.

In view of the foregoing, I would not encourage my PSAs or CSAs to depend on me at all. That is the beauty of this online business which we know we can work independently. Yes, as the Sponsor you have a certain responsibility to ensure that you guide and advise where possible. It is equally good to let your affiliates handle the business on their own because this will give them a very good insight into how everything works. It will prepare them for the future where they will be able to face difficulties and know that they can manage on their own.

If on the other hand you allow your affiliates to depend on you, when that help is not available, they will get discouraged and blame you for not assisting. Make it clear from the onset that this is a self taught business and as far as possible let me move forward on their own. This way you will also be able to judge which of your affiliates are serious and which are likely to give up.

I prefer to write emails that give you the impression that you are actually physically talking to the individual. In my short stay with SFI I have started earning a "real" income, I would say almost immediately. What I mean is that my first paycheck came in as soon as I enrolled a PSA who became active with a Standing Order.

I would say that building an active downline would be the idea you would have to ingrain into your new PSAs and CSAs as you get to know them. We are told consistently that you do not have to have a Standing Order to succeed in SFI but my view is that your business will take off much faster if you do.

When your team members (Level 1) are leading a team of active members, the chances of your Level 1 members becoming inactive is minimised because they are earning $7.95 commission from 1 active individual who has a standing order or has qualified as EA2.

For anyone who sees that the income can be earned online, the chances of them becoming inactive will be significantly reduced. Of course this is one income stream but you have the opportunity to explore various other income streams within SFI and TripleClicks that will earn money for you and your downlines - once the cash flows who will want to become inactive?

Generally speaking if you notice people, including strangers who may not know each other but if they find that both of you speak the same language, there is a common ground to start a conversation. Language becomes the basis on which you can talk about any subject starting from asking for directions to how to work an automated drink machine!

The Forum's sub category of being able to talk/converse and communicate in your vernacular is very similar. Team members from the same country will understand common problems with a lot more ease if explained in a common language. This facilitates problems and queries being sorted out in a faster way. Better informed and more experienced affiliates in your region will help you out.

In addition, as there is no restriction of posting in English, team members who may be new to the business can post a thread without feeling embarrassed about the query they are asking. Some affiliates hesitate to post in the Forum because they wonder how others will think about them. There are no barriers to what you will post provided you conform to the rules and regulations (which the Forum Gurus in your country will make a check on and ensure that there are no violations).

One of the principles of marketing that I like to follow is never discard any prospect! Each one signifies a value that you can exploit, with time. When I talk of exploit I mean that you should never lose a chance to market SFI to anyone, be it family, friends or strangers. It is very difficult to assume or presume that family and friends (F&F) might be better than strangers. This may hold true for one Affiliate but another might find that they have received better support from strangers rather than F&F.

From experience I have always noticed that the person you least expect to support you will turn around and surprise you. Based on this evaluation, I would say that your friends also started out as strangers; they will support you but you need to establish a strong business relationship and rapport with them. Yet from another perspective you will never be sure whether they will:-

..take you up on joining SFI and work it seriously; or
..join and become a team leader or move past the 1st month in SFI; or
..be active in the 1st two months of joining SFI and then give up; and
..be inactive in the first two months and then start generating VPs.

The above set-up holds true for family and friends (F&F) but you are better assured of positive results from F&F. Here again we can separate F&F because the support from Family may probably be much better than some Friends. It is difficult to generalise.

When I talk of friends, sometimes these are my clients with whom I have been working for a long time and they are always supportive so in my case, not only do I receive tremendous support from family members but also from friends/clients. Again for some of us, you could never rely on family to support you-there is an attitude and a degree of resistance from family members but you might find that friends support you all the way especially when you have a new idea you put across.

With this uncertainty, it is prudent to take up every opportunity that comes in front of you, whether they are family, friends or strangers. You can never tell who will turn out to be the most active out of these 3.

I have been asked this question on several occasions and I say to each and every one of them that to make a million, you need that 1 shilling or pound or dollar whatever is the case.

The 1 VP that you complain about is the reason for your commissions and is the basis on which you will earn. Ignoring them is tantamount to not having an online business.

The 1 VP helps you learn and keeps you informed of the goings on in the SFI and TripleClicks business. There are 15 Tabs on your SFI homepage and that is where your office operates from - the various tabs allow you to understand your progress and that of the organisation.

Without earning the 1 VP, you will miss out on the benefits that are attached towards the emphasis that you should log in at least once in a day to check out your business.

Remember that the accumulation of your VPs is what qualifies you as an EA and every point matters. Your EA status is the start of your real benefits and you would not call it a waste of time when at the end of the month, it will decide on the figure of your commission.

As I have grown in SFI, I think I have, the number of PSAs/CSAs on my list have increased significantly. To manage them and keep in touch, I have found these methods useful....

a) The Genealogy is a highly effective especially as you can filter the PSAs/CSAs into various categories such as performing, non-performing or your movers, those who joined recently and much more.....

b) The other option is skype. I give out my skype ID in the regular emails I send out.
Communication must be two-way and it is important that your PSAs & CSAs have their own easy way to get in touch with you.

c) I provide my telephone contact and questions from the PSAs/CSAs are handled immediately through various mobile applications.

To answer your second part on the frequency of contact-I react on the performance(s) of the PSAs/CSAs. After sending out one mail a week as required in the Things To Do List, I monitor progress of my Affiliates and in some weeks can communicate 3 or 4 times or more.
It depends on what I wish to share with the Affiliates but I believe that there is no particular yardstick with which I measure how often I should be in touch. If the Affiliates are in my country, I could be talking to them on a daily basis. This will also depend on the kind queries they have.

I believe that you can communicate as often as you think it is constructive to produce the results that you desire to take your TEAM forward. You must however use your discretion so that the PSAs/CSAs do not consider your communication, a bore! What you say in the emails also matters.....

A sponsor's role in SFI should not be underestimated neither should it be over-rated.

I have a first hand experience of taking my SFI business forward without any assistance from my Sponsor. However, I also realize that my downlines rely on me to provide sometimes, a direction, encouragement when things are tough, a positive feedback all the time and my ability as a Sponsor to support my team is very vital. When I did not have all this, I moved to my up-line support team member to seek assistance. Their advice at the right time can make a difference to the affiliate's approach towards the SFI business.

I am a Sponsor and when I talk to my team members through the communication channels open in SFI, I make it known to them that I am available at any time to provide them with any help they need. It is not a robotic communication. I mean what I say. This would be my primary yardstick when I assess my Sponsor.

Whenever my team members achieve a milestone in their day to day activity, I make sure that I applaud them on their achievements. They feel good and are happy to receive acknowledgement - that is the basis on which I would like my team to move forward and work harder. This is another point on which I would assess my Sponsor. This takes me back to communication!

If my Sponsor joined before I did, there would be a slight edge and advantage he/she would have in terms of being more experienced and providing the right advice without asking. Keeping in touch with team members is vital at the same time allowing them to work independently would be a good strategy.

These are some of the areas I would see before rating my Sponsor.

The best form of communication that I have found effective is a combination of team mailer, SFI chat and email and e-cards.

Initially an introduction through the team mailer should take care of creating attention from your CSAs and they are aware that there is support from you to them. It is good to vary your means of communication with them. I prefer to also send in a very short message on the chat whenever I see them online; even if they are offline, I add a line or two which they will see when they log in. Just in case they do not know that we have a chat system, this is when the email becomes useful.

Also remember to change the content of your communication and do not pick on the same topic. Create a variety and sometimes just talk generally about topics of mutual interest. For example business environment in their country or what they do. Add in your own experiences to make your content interesting reading.

It helps to ask them, do not assume. Ask them what interests them about the SFI program and if there are any specific areas that are of concern. This shows that you care. Hopefully, all this on a regular basis will create some kind of a motivation for your CSAs to respond to you and work their business.
