Which is more effective--paid or free advertising--and why?

From my own personal,online marketing experience of over ten years, I am convinced without the shadow of doubt that paid-advertising is always better than F.R.E.E marketing. Most owners of advertising sites keep the free ads for themselves. However if you want the 'cream of the crop,' you have to pay for your ads, in order to see some results.

I have been in the online advertising business for many years and very familiar with all types of online advertising. My experience has taught me that effective advertising, whether paid or free is of the utmost importance. By that I mean, an effective ad will:

1) Have a Subject/Title that Grabs the Attention of the viewer
2 The Body of the ad should be short, simple and to the point, Hi-Lighting and/or use of some Color text to pinpoint the Value you are offering.

When choosing between paid or free advertising, you should make a list of questions how your advertising tool works effectively towards your goal.

The critical factor that you should consider is your money and time investments to attain your goal. Do you want to quit your job in 5 years? Do you want to start supplementing your current income in a year or two?

It's good to answer this question with the bases of comparison in mind.

1. As to RESULT - Paid ads is more effective because the site have already visitors that are always coming back to their site. It also have little competition compared to free ads therefore have better chance of getting affiliates.

2. AS to COST - Free ads are obviously better. But if you monetize the efforts that you do then paid ads may turn to be less cost.

Hi, this is good question.

I think that each has their positive and negative sides.

Paid advertising is good if you know what are you doing. If you have money to invest in paid advertising you should put your ad on google or bing. Not much effective paid advertising is PTC (paid ot click) sites advertising - why? Because, people are not interested in your ad, they watch it for money - keep this on your mind.

Generally speaking, paid advertising is always best because the venues that allow you to secure paid advertising are more effective than free, alternative methods. There are some cases such as advertising on your own website that can work better but only if you are an expert in SEO and more specifically "on page SEO."
