The answer to this question would depend on factors that aren't given. How did you meet the prospect, why are they even talking or communicating with you, where did you meet them, what have you talked about with them, how well do you know your prospect?

You need to develop both your initial contact skills, and your follow-up skills. You need to know which you are doing, and act accordingly. Both are important, and one without the other is useless.

The first contact is important that the person caught in an unfamiliar company was able to understand that he will always help, he was not alone and he can start his own business. When you write a letter, let it not be too formal. One has to understand that his sonsor - not only a partner and colleague, but also a best friend who will always support and help him

The initial contact with a prospect comes from variety of ways ad it is important of many ways.

1. Talking to friends and putting your sfi banner in search engines and other domains.
2. Placing a notice like advertisement in insertion in a morning newspaper.
3. Paying to get credit in sites like adgoogle and other sites.
Follow-up is important and it comes second.
1 Sending a welcome message and solving the doubts.
2 Giving a morale booster words

It is a trivial question.Initial contact with prospect and follow-up actions both are essential for the success of any plan or business. Initial contact starts the event,prospect identification keeps alive your motivation and follow up accelerates the implementation process. Therefore it is difficult to say which step is the best,rather every step must be taken up with sincerity and devotion to achieve the goal.

I believe the initial contact is more important as without initial contact, you cannot follow-up. Once you have made the initial contact, follow up is a matter of building upon the initial contact.

It is like the old proverb about building your house on solid foundations, not sand.

Follow-up is more important because, on average, it takes between five and seven exposures to a new concept before getting to the “yes”. Give your prospects some time to process and decide that they are interested in SFI. Patience and persistence will eventually lead to success, as long as your approach is not overwhelming.
