What I am about to write in response to your question about "original, creative methods...used to promote your SFI business," may not be considered original or creative by most individuals. However, when you engage in this method, you do need to be original AND creative with each individual you engage, because everyone is different in their own way.
The method I speak of is what advertisers call “warm contacting.” This means speaking with those you know. Those who are around you and whom you have contact with through electronic means (i.e., telephone, texting, computer: email, social media, etc).
Most important: I do not approach everyone with the main purpose to get them signed up. I approach them with the idea of "let me tell you what I'm doing in my life." Often when casually speaking with acquaintances, they are interested in an update of how you are doing. I usually slip into the conversation the work I am doing with SFI or TripleClicks. Typically, I broach the subject by saying, “I found a business online that cost me nothing to join and it has been fun learning how to work the system.” This often leads to them asking, “So, what’s the company and what do you do?”
In my opinion this is where the CREATIVE method comes in. It is helpful to know the interests of the person or persons I’m speaking with in order to keep their attention on presenting SFI and TripleClicks.
Next: I continue the conversation along the line that will interest the person further into wanting to know what I am doing through an internet business. As an example: During a recent appointment with a doctor, who was aware I have been looking to start a home-based business, I mentioned I found SFI/TripleClicks. This led to her asking about the business. Knowing this doctor likes to shop, I began by explaining about the connection SFI has with TripleClicks and TC’s option to be able to sell our personal items through them, like a garage sale, along with being a legitimate online store. This perked her interest further, which led to more questions. By the time I left my appointment, she had requested the website address for TripleClicks. I provided her with a TripleClicks Card, with my SFI ID# written on the back.
Some might say you don’t talk business with your doctor, but I have learned: “You never know who is looking for information on how to make extra income or wanting to change career! As well, as who may be looking for a new place to shop!”
Another example of needing to be CREATIVE by using this method is with a friend whom I had not seen in six months. While “catching up,” I explained to her what I was doing with SFI, knowing this friend was looking for a way to bring in extra income to help her family’s finances. I was sure to mention it cost NOTHING to sign up with SFI and to work on earning VersaPoints, while trying to build the business and that she could do it on her own time, with no pressure to produce a certain amount or get fired from her job. I mentioned these things, because I knew she was under constant pressure from her current job to produce certain status at work, or she could be looking at being jobless.
My own opinion is whatever you do; you have to be creative in promoting your business. If you own a car, put a sign in one of the windows, or join TripleClicks’ Wave3 and put the sticker on your car. If you mail thank you cards through regular post, don’t forget to slip in an SFI or TripleClicks business card. Leave a business card with your tips at restaurants or other establishments. You don’t know when someone might respond.
