Probably marketing experts would be able to provide a good advice how a good photo should look like but here is what it means to me in SFI..

I do not care if you wear an expensive suit...that does not mean much to me here.
Looking into a camera would be nice...
You do not have to smile ecstatically...I am not going to trust you more because of it.
On the other side even if you look serious...again I am not going to trust you more because of it.

Along with your photo I will see your badges and that will be a proof for me that you are doing the real business...whether I liked your photo or not.

I could be completely wrong but that is how I see it. Votes will show.

It is very much important to have a SFI account photo. A personal photo should be clear, front view of the person, preferably eyes not covered by dark glasses and with a pleasant smile. When you upload your photo, it tells people you are genuine person and people would like to associate with real person to do business. Always lead by an example, as a leader you must upload your photo first before asking your downlines to do so.

Secondly, its a very good way of showing total ownership of the business we own due to the impression created by the photograph. In SFI we are all called upon to take total ownership of our business. Therefore let us all & individually display good SFI account photo to portray the good & great business we are proud to own.

Your photo is an excellent example of what makes a good photo. Two changes you might make are to have space above or at least a little more hair showing and be in color. Being black and white can make it stand out, but doesn't have the same vibe as color. Your look professional, interested in your viewer, and your face is clear and looks open and inviting. In some photos the eyes are too prominent. This can be solved by closing them just a little so that you don't looked like a deer scared in the headlights or turn a little to the side or down but still your eyes are forward. Be sure and look as if you are looking at the people and not in a mirror. Most of the pictures I see are good examples.

My picture I cut off at the chin because I have a goiter that bothers me, but others probably don't even notice. Have someone else evaluate your picture because you aren't as objective as someone else would be.

Conveying excitement, pleasure, adding a child to the picture or some background can help personalize the picture so that others associate with it and want to be involved because of it.

No one wants to do business with a brand ‚ company or man who is faceless because it makes that business look shady. Moreover having a face to your sfi business makes your affiliates feel comfortable with you as a sponsor and mostly contacting you. The picture helps your in giving affiliates a face to that person they look up to and want to be like . Therefore your picture makes affiliates ‚ and sfi members as a whole feel home with you which in turn is good for your SFI business

Hello Anastasia,
in answer to your question I will just say that what we're doing here is a serious business.If that's your aproach you will upload a good,bright photo with your image on it.Your team mates, upline and downline want to see the person they are working with.Not your dog,cat,garden,car or children.
In my opinion,if you're serious about your business, you will act seriously and that includes a true picture of yourself.

Let me be devil's advocate again. I am internet marketer for several years, SFI is only meant to be the top of this structure. I have to say that in PTC and Traffic Exchanges/Mailers world use of fancy avatars is quite accepted and normal practice. I myself have a well-known avatar and I easily recognize others from theirs. Avatar can express anything sometimes even better than the photo.
Still taking my own example, my avatar makes it clear I am deadly serious about internet business. My photo - hmm... I have glasses and wear a formal suit sometimes. You can take it seriously, but it does not reflect anything. Actually I hate formal wear, so this photo is even deceptive. But I look like serious businessman... I hope... wow (?).
This is still not the worst case. I have seen lot of real photos, some of them are really good. One of the young women used black and white picture strongly resembling my first love. I even asked whether she really is that girl. Of course not, but I still remember her name and feel sympathy. Or there are simply photogenic faces just looking good and attracting.
Sorry to say, these are exceptions only - what is quite common is when people try to look better than they look really and you see exactly that - that this person tries desperately to look something he is not at all. Would you trust him/her? With reservations, right?
So use of real photos is at least double-edged method, I think.

One good photograph is very much effective in every cases. If you upload a photo with a happy mood and a good smile is impressive.

If your photo is with a happy mood and a cute smile then it is very impressive who visit your page. Simply first impression will be from your photo.

If your photo is in sad mood with no smile then people will think that you are not happy with SFI and accordingly he may not be attracted towards SFI.

Well to respond to your question; let me start by saying this...
The online marketing arena is quite huge with millions of customers doing business worth billions of dollars daily. The market grows daily at an exponetial rate and due to the impersonal nature of online business, there are a lot of risks which are too numerous to mention here.
Now to aswer your question, it is important to have a very good photo for your online business as this serves as on introduction tool to your potential customers or affiliates. A good photo helps to personalize your online profile and gives the impression that the customer is dealing with a real life person and not a robot.
An example of a good photo is one that captures the face in detail as well as the shoulders. There should be a clear view of the eyes and the person should be smiling because you can tell a lot from looking at someones eyes and the way they smile.
