This is a good question.

I can guide you through my own experience as I am both a home maker and a senior citizen - semi retired.

I feel both the categories are good prospects as they both need the money and have the time to work with SFI but my first choice will be the home makers for the following reasons :

1. Home makers are younger and more computer savvy and will learn all the lessons and how to run their SFI business.

2. They need the money to support their family - specially if they are single parents and cannot go to work in an office.

3. They can work from home at the time the children are at school or even at night after the kids go to bed.

4. Parents of young school going kids have more friends and contacts eg. the parents of their kid's friends at school.This makes it easier for them to get people to join as their PSAs.

5. Since the friends who join them will also be computer savvy they will be able to duplicate and train others faster.

6 The homemakers are likely to be more mobile than the retired and would have much better opportunities at recruiting in person other younger people then the retired. They are not as restricted as the retired.
They would be better able to recruit prospects online.

7. Retired people have the time but are more careful with money and worry about getting a standing order. They have limited resources of pension.

8. Older people take more time to learn about SFI and to teach others who join their team.They run out of patience.
But I also know of some retired people doing very well in SFI.

If you are a home maker I would suggest you focus more on recruiting home makers as you will be able to relate to them better.

Hi,
I think retired persons a always a good deal, as they have all the time to really dig in and work their business diligently if they are interested.
Home-makers on the other hand are interested in anything home - home business inclusive.
So, i'll suggest giving both a 50/50 try.

However, in my time here, I've found that even those you have high expectations from tend to fall along the way!
Bottom line is, there is no "best option" when it comes to sponsoring affiliates, anyone can surprise you at anytime (positive or negative surprise); just go out there and get them and see who stays and goes....

Before answering this question, I think we need to think about the following as an advertiser seeking for key communication words for target marketing towards each demographic.

(1) Which demographic do I belong to? Am I good at communication with the people in the same position with me?

(2) Why people are doing SFI business actively in each different demographic area? Are there any specific different reasons for each of them?

I think there is no objective better demographic in between retired persons and homemakers in general terms, but there is for me subjectively depending on my personal circumstances. So there is no general reasons to discriminate the two demographics. In my case, though I am already retired, I prefer younger homemakers rather than the retired, because I take more longer term perspective in building my team affiliates for SFI business. I think SFI as like a pension scheme, actually far better one for me.

So, the real issue here is how we approach each target demographic rather than which one is better. Let's use our utmost imagination power and make our own action plan and observe what will happen again and again, in this way we always open our mind.

In today's economy, however there is not really a major difference between Retired people and homemakers.

Let's look at your assumption:

(1) Is there a difference between those two groups?

(2) Isn't it what they have in common, much stronger than the differences?

(3) Can we find a marketing approach and is inclusive of both retirees and Homemakers

I. Difference between retirees and homemakers.

Your assumption is that retired people
(i)are in their late 50s, early 60s and beyond;
(ii)they may have some savings, a nest egg, even if it relatively small
(iii)if they would be interested in undertaking an internet business, it would likely to be on their spare time.

While, in the opposite, homemakers may have the following characteristics
(1) they are looking to build their main source of income
(2) they are willing to work harder and longer hours
(3) their commitment would stronger
(4) they are likely to spend more years on the business.

Taking into account such contrasts, homemakers would be the best target. However, let's look at what they may have in common.

II. Similarities between Homemakers and Retired People
The world economic crisis that hit from 2008 onward has significantly changed the dynamics of retirements and employment worldwide.
In many developed countries, the pensions and retirement funds have been wiped out. For instance, in the USA, 401K accounts have been depleted. As a results, workers are delaying their retirements. Active senior citizens are returning to the workplace. others are looking for ways to supplement their retirement income, or even replace it.
The distinction between retirees and homemakers is blurred.

Both retired people and homemakers are concerned with their financial security in the short term as well as in the long term

II. A Marketing Approach to Targets both Homemakers and Retirees (Retired People)
You would much more successful on focusing on the similarities and less on the differences, as these differences are now very minimal.
Both retirees and homemakers want financial stability, peace of mind and long term residual income.

Thus your Marketing strategy should focus on those aspects:
(a) long term financial security
(b) income that can be generated in a relatively short time
(c) ease and freedom to join SFI, with no upfront costs
(d) free training and wold class support

These characteristics are appealing to both retirees and homemakers.
This way you reconcile the differences and strengthen the similarities.

I really don’t think the distinction can be made between a retired person or a homemaker as to which would be the best demographic. They can both be great if they are willing to follow the Rules of Success at SFI.

There could be homemakers that may have a lot of time to spare and would love to earn an extra income to help the household. This could also apply to retired persons that would love to supplement their retirement income.

I think that these two demographics could be a real plus to your downline and you should target both of them. Your ads would want to reflect the REASONS that SFI would work for these demographics. I have listed a few ideas below to help you with your ads:

Homemaker – earn extra income for the household, they could perform their daily tasks when the kids are at school, meet new people, get them out of the house, learn their own business

Retired Person – supplement social security income or pension, meet new friends, fight boredom, feel like they are contributing again, pride of working

I would say that both demographics are equal.

There are many retired people who could do with a little extra cash and also a way of keeping their brain active. There are also those who like something to keep them busy during the day and to give them some targets to aim for. You will of course also have those who are not interested in the money and have no desire to do anything during their days.

There are many homemakers who would love something to keep them active, (if they don't have children), and to also keep them in the work loop for future job possibilities, although they won't need it if they follow the SFI plans through!

You will find people in both these and many other demographics who will be interested in the SFI business.

Personally I prefer to appeal to a wide a range of people as possible. The greater the age range I work with and know about the more chance I have of convincing others that I an in a good program.

Homemakers: The majority of people in this group need to make some extra cash, but with the hassle of running their careers and family, they are short of time, so I do not think you will find many in this group, interested to start yet another venture.

If on the other hand you can get them interested and show them that working at least 1 hour a day, every day, they can make a good income 3 to 4 years down the line, than this is a group to go for

Retired Person: It is a fact that the majority of retired folks, do not have enough as pension, to have a decent kind of retirement, and since this is a group of people that have time in their hands, the ideal target to teach them about SFI and TripleClicks, and everything the site has to offer.

Even permanently employed people (like me) just do not earn enough and need to earn more just to make ends meet.

There is a lot of people out there that wants instant gratification (money), but in every walk of life, amongst every group you will find people willing to put in the effort to make it work - do not ignore other groups and concentrate just on one I would say. Keep track of where you get the best results and put more effort into that specific channel.

Retired persons. Seniour people are just naturally adorable and hard to say "No" to...Come on, if a nice senior person offer you a gift card to buy something from their store, would you say "No"??? I know i woudn't!

Senior people are more likely to have some valuable resources to perform this business successfully:

1. Time
2. Means- maybe their pension isn't much, but seniors, if they don't have health issues, sometimes also have less of needs in monthly spending.
3. Experience and wisdom. Seniours are patient, calm, present this business with a rafined touch of simplicity- i often see their advice and views on this business to be more simple and realistic than younger affiliates.
4. Patience. Life teaches us patience, and senior people know how to wait, do things step-by-step and don't expect overnight succsess.
5. People skills. Coming from life experience, it's not the same to try to sell something or recruit someone when you have 8-9 years of adult life experience, like me, as it is when you have 40 or 50 years of adult life experience. That's pretty self-explanatory.

These are the resources i think senior people have that are valuable for this business. Plus, if you find a senior person with these skills AND aome internet knowledge-you hit the jackpot! For these reasons i choose senior people over homemakers. Homemakers are often frustrated that people think they don't work just because they stay at home...Most of them already have a full-time work-from-home job of their own!

These two group of people are generally at the top of the list of possible affiliates. The retired people have all their time to develop their SFI business. And most of these are looking for entertainment, and bidding at auction can attract them.

The negative side of retired people is they may not be able to cope with internet marketing because they are already old. And since they have pension they may not be interested in working hard.

The homemakers on the other hand are trying to find additional income to help meet their family needs while staying at home. Therefor they too are great potentials to active as affiliates. They have the drive because they are in need.

The negative side, however is they have lesser time to spend for their SFI business.

So, if you have the opportunity to target them both then do it, even if you post your ads twice once targeting the retire person and the other is targeting the homemakers.

But if you are only given one choice I would suggest Homemakers because they are highly motivated.
