Well nice question but Its bit unpredictable to say because Advertising results varying from place to place and person to person due to representation of it.
I will tell you my experience of advertising here.
I will divide Advertising in 2 ways and give you direct points of it :
1) Offline Advertising :
In offline mode i will point out ways by there SUCCESS in DECREASING order.
1. Latest one TC Gift Cards! Send it to people who are interested in business and shopping
2. Invite Friends and relatives.
3. Flayers are best way also.
4. X-cards.
2) Online Advertising :
In online mode there are numerous ways i will list them all which i have tried by there SUCCESS in DECREASING order.
1. Social Sites (Facebook , Twitter and etc)
now a days there is issue of SFI URL in facebook but you can put image in which you can write everything about SFI and URL :)
2. PTC (Paid to click )sites(neobux, clicksense and etc- Google them)
3. Banner Advertising.
4. Numerous forums are there on internet , pick up best one where traffic is good, if you need to pay upgradation fees then go for it because there you can get maximum no of people and contact directly.
5. Own blog or site and promote it on google adwards or by other traffic source.
6. Paid signups (you need to be lucky to get active affiliates)
After all i want to say one fact that ADVERTISING also having its own way..
You need to know how to do it. You need to present in a way that every one can attract to it. You need to put in a space where eyes of people can go first. Never go for pop-up ads it will be irritating. Always Track your result by key-codes so you can emphasize on that way.
