I would suggest you insist on them having a good start on sfi, getting the extra 500 points on their first day just for doing the simple things listed on the to do list will give them a head start and keep them happy.
As the days go by and they get more and more educated they will focus on recruiting people themselves and using all the info availiable to advertise their bussiness for free they will move on according to their wit and persistence.
They don't have to purchase sth though SFI. When they realise how much they can grow if they buy some of the very usefull things provided by SFI they will find the way to purchase them, they will want to do it and there are so many ways they can there is no excuse.
They just have to believe it!
