Purchasing traffic can be a good way to achieve sign-ups or bad depending on where the traffic is sent. If your traffic is to one of your own blogs/sites and it doesn't look professional or it is hard to navigate the traffic you generate will be worthless as nobody will or will be able to sign-up.
But then again there is no such thing as bad traffic. If you can get your page seen by 1000 people instead of just one your chances increase to generate sign-ups to grow your business. you must also add links and banners to the blogs/sites where traffic will be sent in order to help people further understand what SFI and TripleClicks is.
I would say test it out for a few months if it works you can continue if it doesn't at least you know you have tried and you can start working on other ideas to generate sign-ups.
