This is a good question.
The way i approach CEO or VIPs of companies are the following:
1. Being a CEO of my company and business myself i know the CEO mode of business and ethics and i follow it.
2. I dress corporately with my skirt suit with SFI or Tripleclicks T Shirts as my inner layer. Dressing with the SFI T shirt is to give the CEO a good concept of where i am coming from and the business and the company i am representing.
This will also rouse the curiosity and the interest of the CEO himself or herself. Doing this will let the CEO know that my company is a legitimate one and put his or her mind at rest. The way i am dressed will determine how i am addressed. So my dressing is very important.
3. My Packaging: how i package myself and my resources matter a lot: My outlook.
Am i rough or neat, disorganized or organized will judge the response of my recipient and the company i represent. So i go there organized, neat, composed and my hair neatly packed. All my marketing tools and materials are neatly put in two folders arranged neatly. One for SFI, Tripliclicks ECA and the other packages of Tripleclicks.
4. With 1-3 in place, i arranged myself while seated with my knees crossed, looking eye to eye with my recipient to explain my purpose of coming with smiles on my face.
After the talk, i give my recipient the opportunity to make his/her decision and i give a firm handshake with smile on my face as i appreciate the time given.
Most give in to the proposal and they await approval from Tripleclicks.
