Some good ways are:
1. Identify the language of your recipient. Trying to locate the language at times can be confusing. I've experienced it before.
2. Use the google translator at your SFI homepage.
3. Evaluate the person's level of English. There are some who will know the basic forms of English. You can begin from there.
4. You can also learn if possible the basic form of the language of the person you are trying to communicate with. This will even build your rapport even more.
5. You can ask for an interpreter if possible. May be you have friends or family members who know the language in question and ask for their help.
6. Ask the person in question to use the google translator at his/her affiliate center to pick his/her language that way you can communicate better.
