Thank you for your question, "My team has a negative attitude about SFI. How can I change it to a positive one?" The first step to finding a solution to this problem would be to find out why they have developed a negative attitude. Are they upset over the recent changes that SFI has made? I will admit that when I first heard about the new team leader requirements, I was upset. Then I sat down and gave serious thought to the reasons that I joined SFI in the first place. I wanted to earn money to improve my family's standard of living. That hasn't changed. SFI offered the best opportunity to make money. That hadn't changed either. I decided that what needed changing was my attitude. I realized that the changes were made to improve SFI and to place the focus back on duplication. It meant that I would have to work harder to achieve my goals but when I did achieve them, they would provide better results.
The next step that I would suggest is to check your attitude. Are you stressing the positive aspects of SFI to your team? Are you following the Rules of Success, especially no. 14? As team leader, it is your responsibility to offer encouragement and support to your team. You set the standard that you want your team to reach. Set the standard high. I am not suggesting that you gloss over real problems that team is experiencing but instead of letting them focus on the negative, work with them to find solutions.
I am proud to be an affiliate of SFI and I think that 2016 is going to be the best year yet. I believe the saying that whether you think you can or you think you can't, you are right. Encourage your team to believe that they can!
