Question:
"How important is it that your family embrace your SFI business...and what if they don't?"
This is a very serious question. First of all you want your family to be just as serious as you are before sharing valuable information about SFI. You also want to avoid wasting valuable time.
Here is my own experience. Pitching any online business opportunity takes skill. Of course we have the experience, and we know this business has many rewards, but just because we think SFI is the greatest business opportunity around does not mean this is going to be easy sharing with family members.
There were times I attempted this selling to family, and immediately, the first question asked is; "Are you making any money!" The second question; "how much money are you making?" The reason the exclamation is used is to show this is not really a question from themselves, it is a well rehearsed question everyone shouts out at us when we attempt to pitch this business.
Most of my family and friends I have already realize my online activity. They see the amount of hours spent online from my ads. When they visit me I'm working online. I do not pitch this business to them. I wait for them to recognize something posted, and for their comment or question regarding the product. I wait for them to look at my screen when they come over, and ask about something they see me doing.
I'm looking for the seriously seeking, interested in doing the business. I have been doing this for quite some time. All of them are waiting to see my performance improve and support my efforts. Those who are considering to join, and have indicated they are interested in joining will know when things pick up for me. I wait for the moment to share.
Expressing to them how exciting the business is, and how we have the opportunity to play the games may get their attention for a moment, but they will include the ability to play games via social media and other gaming sites.
This is not good enough. Let them wait and see. I treat my family and friends no different than those strangers I now nothing about. I don't waste time with my family either trying to persuade and convince. I look for indicators and act on those which show immediate interests to leverage on.
I stick to the same initial questions, because I realize if they do not fit the first few questions I'm wasting my time. We all know how it feels to spend hours, days, months to get a person to sign and join us, then after the first week they find out this is not a fast money business and remain inactive. Family is no different my friend.
Be patient. You do not want that reputation as being a harassment to family and friends, and will certainly turn them off by harassing them.
What I do is share with them something like; "I would be excited to go out with you, but I'm in the middle of my enrolls and have 30 more New Affiliates to enroll" They will say something like; Wow! you did this in one day?" This is an opportunity. They next question is; "How do you get so many in one day?
Sharing the experiences when we win, or make important progress along the way along with the high points toward our success is best, but only in a tactful tasteful manner. We do not want them to feel like items on a shelf.
I will admit family and friends are the most difficult and most critical to work with. We have to consider their value to us as professional as we would the stranger. We must disqualify them to realize their qualifications.
This takes skill.
Ask the right questions, wait for the right answers; "Are you ready to spend 4 - 8 hours everyday?" This will certainly let you know if you have a serious candidate or not, and help save time.
There is no clear-cut way to accomplish this even if others attempt to convince you there is. Timing is crucial. We must be tactful, with consideration of how we would prefer to be approached, and then sometimes this is not good enough.
There is no business opportunity worth losing the respect of family and friends. Just remember how we would feel if one of our family members or friends got in our face trying to convince of the best opportunity in town.
