This is a very interesting question which borders on both the sponsor and the affiliate.
In the first place your sponsor is your leader and as such is expected to know more of the sfi business than you, and this is why he is there to help you understand the system faster than if you had to do everything yourself. On the other hand all that you would want to know from your sponsor is in black and white and you can have it if you take your time studying.
So all in all you don't have to rely too much on your sponsor but balance up and only where you find problems please do ask.
