We certainly do want to bring our affiliates up to speed in SFI but you're correct in suggesting we don't want to overwhelm them either. I believe I have just the right advice for you.
The salient thing to remember here is that participation in SFI is Looooong Terrrrrrrrrrrm. You don't have to build Rome in a day. Start with one thing and then move on to the next. You should be the one that puts the brakes on if your PSA seems to be getting stressed about the steep learning curve.
SFI actually promotes the principle of taking things methodically too. They show this by sending out reminders to do the launchpad lessons one at a time. Affiliates sometimes have the strong urge to whiz through these lessons in a hurry to win the points. I suggest that practice should be discouraged when the new affiliate begins to show signs of floundering.
In order of importance
1. As Sir Gery mentions in his initial video, logging in everyday to perform the daily actions is paramount to a successful outcome. As team leader you need to reiterate this to your affiliate until they really get it. Spend time going over how to earn each valuable point. Keep your eye on their point to test whether they understand. Don't progress further until they understand this critical element of the journey to success.
2. Discuss the strategies of success and the marketing methods listed. Duplication takes many different forms and while you might be able to handle the expert methods, your affiliate might be just at the beginner level. Don't stress out your member by asking them to perform too far above their comfort zone.
2.5 I mentioned comfort zone and I want to briefly expand on it. If you allow your affiliate to always remain inside their comfort zone then they will NEVER progress further. Always have them stretching to excel and growing beyond their current capabilities. But keep it gradual enough not to be totally overwhelming.
3.The toughest lesson will always be when the young bird leaves the nest to fly on his/her own wings. Then they will have to have the tenacity not to overwhelm their new PSAs or even themselves. Fortunately, they will have the wisdom you gave them to see them through.
I'll conclude this by reiterating the main point here. Take the time to do it right and nobody needs to get overwhelmed. Like a vintage bottle of fine fine, SFI needs some time to mature.
