Just ask your affiliate to give his/her business time. Success is not going to happen overnight. Business is like a tree. You can't plant it today and expect fruits tomorrow. You must water your tree and look after it. It will look after you in future. Same with his/her business.
Let him/her understand that it takes time to get to know all the things about business. It takes time to get to know the products in order to advertise them. It takes time to develop a plan. It takes time to figure out what marketing activities will work best for him/her. There will be up and down. The road won't be smooth.
Seeing is believing. After telling him/her, just refer him/her to what others are saying about SFI, show him/her what you have achieved and what other old affiliates have achieved. Make him/her aware that there is lot of achievement. Achievement is not only money.
