This is a very wonderful question; and I think I can attempt to give you some honest tips.
You see, Sales is an art. it is partly assertive and partly passive. However, if you balance the persuasion and charisma of a great salesperson, you'll be able to sell just about anything at all to several people, who might not even want it at the first sight.
So, in order to be a great salesman or woman, you will need the following qualities:--
1. Be trustworthy;
2. Put the Customer first.
3. Empathize.
4. Be an Expert in your field;
5. Follow-Up with the customer;
6. Follow-Through with the product/service you're offering;
7. Anticipate Objections in the course of your presentations;
8. Prepare strong Defenses to any articulated objections;
9. Be Assertive to convince the customer why your product or service is much better than the objection raised;
10. Be logical and sincere in your assertive defenses;
11. Ask for the Sale; and
12. Close the Sale convincingly;
With all these, you will likely climb on top of the "success" ladder soonest.
