You can never be certain what kind of effect will your motivation have.Some of your downline affiliates will certainly think of you ass greedy,but not all of them.
I think the most important thing is how you build your relationship with them.If you treat them as friends with whom you work with,and care about their success as much as your own,they can never think of you as a "greedy upline".
Also,they can always look up to you,set an example.When you are willing to spend money for maintaining your status,that way you are encouraging them to do so as well.
