This is a very good question. There are many answers to this question and I will try to list a few.
1. I think that the new affiliates have signed up thinking that this is a Get Rich Quick program
2. They think that they do not have to do anything to make it work
3. They have major information overload, a lot of people can not handle all the info thrown at them all of a sudden
4. They signed up just for a look around and find out that this is not what they wanted
5. They do not understand. SFI is a world wide company with affiliates from all over the world. A lot of new affiliates do not fully understand the English language, therefore do not understand what needs to be done. The translat system although it is good it is not the best in the world.
6. They think that they do not have the time to spend on the site each day to make it a success
7. They do not make money as fast as they want so therefore they loose interest in SFI
