Control in the sense the team leader must know the plus and minus of each team member so that he/she can train him/her effectively for more growth of the business. In this case, team leader has to put more time in totality however for each team member he will be able to afford less time. In this case, probability of becoming leader is less because subordinates are not getting much from his superior.
The Team Leader develops smaller number of EAs and then he can put most of the time for individual team member. Affiliates will be trained in a better way and they will be able to develop their downline in a better way. Compared to 1st case, chances of becoming a leader is more in this case.
