Pricebenders auctions are great way to get some product with a BIG discount (even from 99,99%).So,it's attractive to many affiliates.
Winning an auction is not so easy job,but I'll write you what I do and some tips.
FIRST PART:preparation (before auction)
1. get to know auctions.Take your time to follow and see how the auction works.Observe several auctions for couple of days.
2. choose auction:see what would be interesting to you.Is it a pack of T-credits,or mobile telephone or lap top computer,or unit of S-builder,or some gold or silver coin...make your choice.
Also,choose auction type.If you're newbie (never won an auction before),then check if there's mark "1WA" ("first win auction") next to the auction.In those auctions only those who never won an auction are eligible to bid.If you have less then 10 auctions won,then look for a mark "JR" ("Junior").It's for those with 9 or less wins.The rest of explanations of the marks you'll find at bottom of auction tab on Tripleclicks.
3. auctions to be avoid for a beginner:"big dog" type of auction and "DP" (double MRP) auctions.It's sure nice to have 10 MRP for a bid instead of 5,but on such auctions you'll also need double credits to spend if you want to win it.Because "DP" auctions often attract many affiliates to bid on them,which means more of your TC used for bidding.Instead of it,you can choose auction of "normal" type (or already mentioned "1WA" or "JR" if possible) and use less TC to win it.
4. other preparations:get enough T-credits (you can prepare as much credits as you want,but I recommend you that you don't get into any auction if you don't have at least 40-50 TC),see previous auctions of the item you're preparing for what is average price for it,take the time for the auction (which means:don't let something else drag your attention) and be prepared when it starts (turn off other programs on your computer,especially those which use internet,so that your connection is unladen).
SECOND PART:auction (after it starts)
1. when the auction begins,there are generally 2 strategies:get involved from the start or wait and see how the auction is going (and choose the right moment to "hop in").If you're deficient with TC I advise you to wait first and bid later.However,if you have plenty of TC prepared for bidding,then there's no need to wait,go strait from the start.
2. during auction:look at the bidding log (you'll find it at down right corner of the screen) and meet your rivals.The main thing is to find out how serious are they.Click on their nick-names and see their badges.If you see that your main rival has "millions" of wins of Knock Out Trivia games or Gold Streak games or Pick The Price games,then most probably he/she has a lot of TC ready for bidding and better avoid competing with him/her.You'll just loose your TC.
Also,check out the list of latest auction winners.You sure don't want to go "in war" with someone who just won 500 TC pack.
3. about bidding,there are also two general strategies:to use "auto-bidder" or not to use it.It depends from person to person.See what's better for you.
4. if you choose to wait and see,then your strategy is first to let others "spend themselves" (loose lot of their TC) and then you come on the scene and outbid them all.
5. when is the right moment to start bidding?Well,that's a million dollars question.Like I said,if you have really enough credits prepared (say,1000 or more TC),then go from the start.If not,then you'll have to pick up the right moment to get involved.
How to find when is it?There are some signs that may lead you to know when is the right time.If you see that no one's on auto-bidder,that auction timer often reaches "Going once,going twice",that only one person is still competing with the highest bidder (last 5-6-7 bids are only his/hers bids),that the average price of past auctions is exceeded - all that means that not many others are interested anymore in competing,so it might be a good time for you to show up.
6. taking action:if you're not highest bidder,and your opponent is on auto-bidder,then first spend 10-20-30 TC on bidding.That's just to feel your rival's "pulse".You might outbid him/her with that.If not,then continue bidding with 50-100-200 or more TC.
7. take notes about your rivals:take a note when someone is starting to bid.For example,if you're bidding on 300 TC pack auction,and someone is already spent 250-300 TC into bidding,that might mean that he or she is almost "done".However,there are some person who enter auctions with lot of emotions.They cannot stand that someone else defeat them.So,those persons will spend 5000 TC just to win an auction,even if the prize is,say,5 TC.
After all,you'll also need LUCK to win an auction.
Keep in mind that there are other members who are trying to win it - just like you.Will they get into auction you have selected to bid on and when they'll do it or they won't do it...well,that's more matter of luck.
And also remember:don't get desperate if you don't win auction you were prepared for.There will ALWAYS be next auction and next chance ;)
