Challenging question...since I join SFI, I only win once.
For me winning is by chance, the best thing is, if joining be sure to have enough T Credits in your possession, and if you are interested on a certain product open for bidding you can join.
Through observation, if there are few bidders you have more chance to win, but still it is a game of chance. Up to this time when I place my bet, I wait to see the word.. Going once..going twice, but due to my laptap latency due to internet connection, I most landed the second bidder.
Try your best, no harm in trying. Winning will come your way, if you have patience in everything you like to achieve.
