I do believe that its best to acknowledge it.
For what ever reason they became inactive, we should always respect it. If you want to know the reason though, always ask in a friendly manner with the thought of wanting to know how we can help such individual.
What should you say?
As their sponsor, we already know a bit of them,so we can base our question from their last activity Or from whatever reason he/she gave you from being inactive.
Offer any help you can give, if you running a game With prices for your downline let him/her know the benifits to join.
In short really, make him/her feel wanted and welcomed in your team still.
And in your part,"hope for the best" that none in your team will ever be inactive!
