The time of day or night and was it on Tuesday or Saturday.
All of these variables have impact on what the final price
will likely be.

Of course, all of the research can give you past history,
past prices, etc... but one variable that is hard to predict is
human behavior.

So knowing a little about some of the regular and "Big Dog" players
and some of the things they do could be beneficial to you.
