HA - that question is like asking what is the best way to predict the weather (or the LOTTO numbers) these days? ;-)
You can check the history of the auction prices to see if there is maybe a certain trend, but as far as I'm concerned, it's the LUCK of the DRAW! Obviously you will stick within the set price norm - which can range from 0,27 cents to $ 35.49 to $55.00 - at any given time - but I think Lady Luck plays the deciding factor in any of these predictions.
Then again - what's wrong with placing a single TCredit in the hands of Lady Luck and checks whether she smiles or frowns upon you? I think that evasive lady is just sitting there, waiting for someone with panache and persistence and a belief in Good Luck to wave her magic wand - so WHY NOT?
Maybe this is not a very scientific answer, but geez, life is also about chances and challenges and good luck and bad luck and FUN - and predicting auction prices is not NASA Space Ship technology - it's just another change that SFI gives us to test our LUCK.

PS - I've had quite a few GOOD LUCK streaks since I joined SFI - In T-Time, Daily Grand Awards, etc. so I guess I KNOW I'm lucky and thus Lady Luck likes me! ;-)
