I think that if it has reached the time that they ask you this question they are very interested in joining but might be scared that you will be playing the role of their "boss" and that rises this question.
Explain to them that you will not be playing "boss" rather that they might see you as a business partner.
Also explain to them that you are their team leader and that you are there to support them when ever is necessary but never let them think or real like you are the boss.
Even if your rank is higher than theirs, explain to them that they can also reach your rank and that you will help them when ever is needed.
