~ It may also be good to choose an item, or items, that you KNOW will have specific appeal to certain people. Once again, when you know from the start that they will be interested in it, you will come across as being more confident, enthusiastic and believable. After all, you are helping them get something they want or need, right?
~ One principle that has helped many marketers become successful in sales is buying and using a product yourself before recommending it to your prospective customers. When you use it and know that it works and that it is a great item, once again, you will promote it with confidence and enthusiasm!
~ Practice Professionalism: Study your chosen item thoroughly before you begin promoting it so you will know exactly what features and benefits it offers and what to tell your prospective customers about it. Become the expert!
~ Finally, have a back-up product already in mind to recommend in case a customer declines to purchase the first item. Be prepared to bounce back right away! (That is another sign of professionalism and the forerunner to sales success.)
Over time, as you get more practice and experience with the selling process, you will become more competent and more confident. As you progress, you can increase the number of items you choose to focus on promoting at one time.
