Auto-bidder is a tool to use at your advantage in case you need to do something else which is of importance; you will have to switch it on. It is not the question of how much TCredits you use but rather the importance of winning an auction.
How you use the auto-bidder is entirely up to you and nobody will force you to use it or not. It is for our convinience.
Furthermore, there is no better option to win but it is up to your eagerness to win a particular option. If you just go in for the sake of earning MRPs then you are not playing to win.
