You can not make anyone use your cards. You have the gift card tracker that tells you when the codes have been redeemed. If a card is not redeemed in a certain period of time you can issue that code to another person. Gift cards never expire so you don't lose them. The code is in the tracking report and can be assigned to someone else.
I use online promotions to distribute gift cards. You have to be careful about current members asking you for cards! So if a person requests for a code it is a good idea to ask them for their id no. If they have number they are already in TripleClicks. If not you can give them a code. When they redeem the code they will become a PRM.
If you hand cards to people tell them they have a certain amount of time to use the card or the code may no longer be available. Risk of loss is a powerful emotional trigger and perhaps some will take action in that time. If not you may assign the code to someone who is ready to take advantage of all TripleClicks has to offer.
