I work a lot with JV giveaways and free items. I offer the gift cards as a bonus for downloading my free gift. When I do this I automatically get their email address as they have to contact me at an email list I use just for the gift cards. When they sign up to my list I send them the gift card along with my TC link so the card can be honoured.
I usually give them 60 days to use the card. I do send them emails in the meantime reminding them of how long they have to use the cards. This usually works for me and the majority of the cards get used. Not only that but I also have their email and permission to contact them with marketing offers until such time as they withdraw that permission. That means I can market SFI to them while they are deciding to use the card.
