The common mistake is to recruit your family and friends. Your friends and family know you for who you are. If you are not a business owner and you approach them they will probably think you are up to something strange.

I prefer to recruit in the cold market. The cold market or strangers have no idea who you are. You have a huge advantage when they are unaware who you are. You have instant credibility with strangers than you do with your family and friends.
