I believe it depends on your situation and how you present your new business.
If this is the first time you are working an internet marketing business, your family and friends may be interested in what you are doing. Don't be surprised to find that many you know, have had an experience in marketing.
The positive is: If those you know are looking for extra income and willing to become an affiliate or to check out your TripleClicks website.
The negative is: If your family or friends had a bad experience, had gotten discouraged, or were not successful. They may start trying to discourage you.
Many people don't want others to be successful if they weren't.
I find it easier to sign up strangers by advertising SFI on websites where people are looking for a job or extra money.
As you probably know, many people join SFI just wanting a paycheck like they are working a regular 9 - 5 job. They don't understand or are not willing to work as a business owner.
Being a brick and mortar business owner, I know you must work your business everyday.
No days off, even when the business is closed. There's always something to do like cleaning and stocking!

Personally, I only talk about TripleClicks to my family and friends. I give them gift cards to use after they log in.
My best success is telling business owners about TripleClicks and giving them a gift card. Some check out TripleClicks and many don't. This is called being an internet business owner. With business owners, you can always go back and talk about TripleClicks again.
Family and friends may get offensive or want you to work their business for them.
