I personally feel it is best to promote SFI to strangers first. I say this because everyone doesn't have the same mindset to work this type of program and you don't want to strain family relationships if they feel like you are pressuring them.
That being said, I would wait until you really know the ropes with SFI before promoting to anyone. You have to know what you are talking about and really understand the system before you can create duplication and help your team.
Family and friends can be better after you have proven to yourself that you can succeed and in turn, help them succeed.
