I think a long-term goal should depend on affiliate's economic environment.
I think the best long term goal for an affiliate should be to earn the maximum of his/hers country's one or double minimum wage.
Over a longer period of time they will proabably earn more, but setting your goals that fit your country's standards of comfortable living (for example, it coudn't be the same for affiliate from Africa and affiliate from Europe or USA) would help them measure their work- how much they would have to work in their country to make that ammount is how much work they should put into SFI.
I don't think their is one setting that is optimum for all affiliates. These goals should come from individual's living phylosophy and personal aspirations, with a dose of reality check, just so they don't get dissapointed.
