What I have noticed is that when people have bad experiences elsewhere, they usually throw everything into the same package. They think that ALL online businesses are "trash," "scams," "not worth it."
Since they are coming to me with this mind-set already, I don't try to change their minds. I have simply encouraged them to play the PriceBender games or auctions. I let them know that my job is simply to help people find EXTREMELY great priced items and buy them from auction.
Also, in regards to the PB games; I have let them know that I know the craze with online gaming and contests. I let them know about the contests that we are running and share with them the great things that our contests do.
After they have played the games OR gotten a part of the PB auction, I ask them if they enjoyed themselves? Usually, the answer is yes. I ask them if they are willing to tell someone about their experience, I will give them $12. That is so easy - I get people to come back to me, thru word of mouth advertising. Then, I tell the original person that I would love to have them on my team to help build the fun and awareness...
