Now, most of the answers already submitted focus on setting the prospects/affiliates straight, about how getting anywhere here is going to take three to five years, in general, and they're completely right about that. However, there's one key factor they're missing:
There's FUN to be had.
Tell them the focus here isn't the money--that's a marathon, not a sprint--but rather on how every day, they encourage every single member here to play games, try their hands at auctions, and just generally have a good time, either on their own or socializing with others. That's one of the big things drawing me back; without the "fun factor" inherent in SFI and TripleClicks, they'd never have me coming back for more.
