I have found that a lot of small convenience stores and Pizza shops will usually allow you to put a flier in their windows. You can also place your fliers on bulletin boards in your local grocery store.
I have also found that some libraries allow you to put them on the counters for people to see. You can also place them on telephone poles (if allowed by your city). Take the time to look all around at different places, you'll always find some place that you can place them.
I have ben lucky enough for my local places being real nice and allowing me to leave them. You can even use some places to turn them into ECA's. Try any store, any place and you will have some sort of luck with it.
