Absolutely yes it is a good idea for student 18 years or older to join SFI. It teaches good business ethics, good public relations, encourages "stick-ability" & commitment, teaches you how to follow up, advertise, get creative ... so many positive influences I can't name them all.
You also get the basis of an income, providing you do what is required of you.
And you can set yourself up to be able to support & help your family in the longer-term.
I personally fail to see how or where there is the possibility of a negative influence on a student. It is a great tool to learn the ways fo the world as well as improve financial standing.
