A good photo is like a logo. It's better than a logo actually because it shows people that you're not afraid to show others who you are, a real person. In my opinion a good photo, like a logo, takes time and professionalism to produce. Of course, any photo is better than none at all.
Things to avoid:
- anything in the background like a car, motorcycle, or a messy house.
- another person other than your spouse
- children and pets
- having your head go outside the boundaries of the photo
Things to Show:
- head and shoulders with a plain background
- your best you but make it current, not 20 years ago.
- large enough so it doesn't look blurry changed to a different size.
- yourself as a professional business person
