Sponsors should provide support to their affiliates,offer help, show them where to find the answers to questions, encourage and motivate them to work!
Once my affiliate asked me to do the daily tasks of his few days as he goes on vacation and there is no internet-that I agreed to it-I would definitely go beyond! :-)
