I think if you have as much experience as you say you do that until you get your feet wet learning how to advertise online that your personal experience will serve you better and that your offline methods will be very successful for you.
I believe you should do what you do best for getting new affiliates. What will really be helpful is when you find an affiliate who has the experience with online marketing so you can share knowledge, information and online advertising techniques.
