How often you communicate is dependent on the person of your Sponsor and/or co-sponsor, being too frequent in communicating with some may seem to them as a disturbance, they may label you a nuisance and a dummy. while some sponsors may see your frequency as a show of enthusiasm and they will want to attend to you as often as you ask.
I believe in less frequent questioning for a start until you understand which category he/she(sponsor/co-sponsor) belongs to so that you don't turn him/her off. If he/she is the go type a great team spirited,warm person, then as often as you wish will be welcomed.
