I just have to say upfront that I'm very happy SFI made these changes, and made Digital Gift Cards possible, because now you don't have to waste time or money for them to arrive, you have them so quickly at your disposal.
As to methods of their distribution I could think of couple.
First of all, all forms of social networks are great for you to advertise, Facebook, Tweeter, even You Tube or Google+ can be very affective because it gathers various and a lot of people. You don't want to miss on that, right?
Next, mail it to all your friend. Maybe they are not interested but they might know someone who will be.
I'm sure you have some form of pay per click advertising set up, so use that as well.
And last, post your offer on your own website, or if you don't have one, make a blog, it's not that difficult if you use Blogger but it can be pretty affective in attracting potential clients.
