You've already made a huge step toward answering your question by coming here. You will get a wealth of information contained herein; now all you need to do is sift through the answers and act on those you feel best suit you or you may decide that you have found your own.
It has already been said but I will say it again: SFI has provided us with a wealth of resources we can implement daily; the sponsor is just one of those many resources. By being the best sponsor you can be, you will be creating an awesome team from which you will earn an income from. The better the team, the greater the rewards. It also follows that the better the sponsor, the better the quality of your team.
Learn from SFI's many training resources then teach what you know to your down-line. Be the sponsor you never had. It is your sponsor's loss that he/she is not fulfilling their role as a sponsor. Maybe they're no longer active; if this is the case then you will soon be given a new sponsor.
How is your co-sponsor?
Don't forget that your co-sponsor is equally important and may give you a lot more support than your sponsor ever could (another one of the many resources provided by this well thought out company).
Learn from the many resources and train your down-line to do the same. Teach them all the things you've learned along the way and you will see how rewarding it can be to be an awesome sponsor. It is a shame that you don't have an awesome sponsor but remember that the sponsor is just one of the many free resources. This company is like an army of sponsors. Use the forum, Ask SC and the training pages to succeed and become an awesome sponsor yourself.
