Having been in both the retail and wholesale sectors I can say from experience you can sell either so long as it is a product that someone needs or wants.
The best thing to do would be to sell expensive things cheap, but that depends on how much YOU pay for them in the first place.
I have seen people sell items and when all is going well they put the prices up expecting to make more profit but they often put the price past what people can pay so they sell fewer items at the more expensive rate. They make more profit on each item but less profit overall as they are selling fewer items. Don't get greedy.
The best items to sell are those that people NEED as when there is little money people don't buy what they want because they can't afford it but they will buy what they need because they need it. But it must be at the right price.
