Many people do not believe in themselfs, you should try to motivate and encourage them with just few nice words. Also, you should focus on explanation: "Hole world is your for marketing".

First, as I already said be very supportive for them, tell them you will be their support all the way - when ever they need any advice or do not know how to do something - you'll be there as their sponsor.

Second, explain them when they become members it is not that important how much people they know, noone knows everyone. In this job, Internet is your work place. There are so much people looking for better life, better paychecks, it depends on them how much they are willing to work, and how much time are ready to invest in this job.

Everyone knows how to read, how to learn... but they are not willing to work, if they are willing to work - Internet is big, and there is space for every affiliate.
