Goals are like milestones on a road that leads to your destination, which itself is your lifetime goal ( or, as they say, the big picture).
'Proper' goals are those that are realistic, achievable and for achieving which you have some plan, some worksheet, that guides you step by step towards them.
SFI has done most of the job for you in order to help you set your goals on the proven path of success.
It could have set the goal for you and made your job easy and effortless as far as goal-setting is concerned. It did not do so. The simple reason is that you will not be motivated if others set your goals.
It is YOUR business and YOU have to set your own goals, taking into consideration your background, your skill-set, your circumstances etc. You can then set proper goals for yourself and get inspired to achieve them.
Too easy goals are not worth their name. Too difficult goals might cause despair, when you fail to reach them. Proper goals are those that are nether too easy nor too difficult. They should be such that you will try hard to exceed your limits in order to achieve them. Such goals motivate you to do your best. Such proper goals, once reached, are a source of excitement, satisfaction and pride.
General goals like,"I want to improve my standard of living" are ok, as long-term broad goals. They are your wishes.
You should chalk out specific or precise action-oriented and time-bound goals, if you wish to succeed in life (or at SFI).
Without proper goals, your life (whether in general or at SFI) will just drift like a rudderless boat that is at the mercy of the winds and the waves.
Every goal needs reviewing periodically. SFI has made provision for this too.
With the help available at SFI (at the GOALS tab, even novices can set proper goals, if they are serious about achieving success in this business.
